Floyd Shatford
Floyd has been Councillor of District 2 in Hubbard's since 1997. He is currently serving his fifth term on Council.
Floyd has been employed with Canexel at the East River plant since 1970 where he began as a Press Operator and, in 1997, moved to the position of Fire Marshall. Floyd also held a position as Vice President of the Union for 12 years where he enjoyed helping his fellow workers with their problems. He still enjoys bowling, golfing, cards and especially a challenge in a good game of washers.
In his community, Floyd has been on the Board of Directors for the Aspotogan Heritage Trust for the past 14 years, having held the position of Chair and is presently Vice-Chair. Floyd volunteers on the St. James Cemetery Committee, overseeing the maintenance. He has also enjoyed many years as coach of a local soft ball team and was involved with Chester Minor Hockey.
Floyd and his wife Elaine have been married 42 years and have two children and three grandchildren, who are also very much enveloped in the community.
