Financial Condition Indicators
The Province of Nova Scotia (through the Department of Municipal Affairs), The Federation of NS Municipalities, and the Association of Municipal Administrators, evaluates the financial health of municipal units across Nova Scotia. Using Financial Condition Indicators (FCI), they can determine if a municipal unit is at low risk, moderate risk or high risk in a number of categories, including level of reserves and debt, uncollected taxes, residential tax burden, and liquidity, to name a few.
The Indicators are helpful to Municipal Council as they can identify trends and focus on areas that might need additional attention.
You can view the Financial Condition Indicators for all municipalities or just the Municipality of Chester through the links on the right.
