Municipal Offices are open again (mask friendly). Municipal staff are back working from the office, but we are fully equipped to provide most services online, over the telephone, or without contact. Such as,

Payments

Send e-transfers to [email protected]. Please include a description, such as tax account number(s), file number, etc., in memo section. 

Drop cheques off (not cash) in the drop-boxes located at 151 King Street or 186 Central Street in Chester.

Make payments at the front counter at 151 King Street, Chester. Only two customers is permitted in the lobby at a time. Masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing apply.

Applications and Permits

If you need an application, most are available to print here, or you can pick one up from our offices to take home and complete.

For applications that require more discussion, please call for an appointment. Only one customer is permitted in the Annex lobby at a time. Masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing apply.

Drop off completed applications in the drop-boxes located at 151 King Street (sewer) or 186 Central Street (building, demolition, development) in Chester.

Permits can be mailed or sent electronically and then mailed.

Program Registration

Please call Recreation & Parks at 902-275-3490 or register for programs online using ActiveNet. If online or via telephone is not an option, only one customer is permitted in the Recreation & Parks lobby at a time. Masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing apply.

Green Carts & Mini Bins

Call Solid Waste at 902-275-2330 to make arrangements for contactless drop-off of a green cart at your address.

Call Public Works at 902-275-1312 to make arrangements for contactless pick-up of mini bins at the Municipal Office.

Council/Committee meetings

We are welcoming spectators back into our Public Gallery! Council will meet in person, but meetings will continue to stream online. You can access the meetings through our Facebook page, with or without an account, here or on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/modcvideo.

While our immunocompromised staff members are very careful with protecting their health, anything you can do to minimize risk is greatly appreciated. If meeting with municipal staff is the only option, please wear a mask and respect the measures we must take. We are also available by email, telephone, or virtual meeting. Contact us!
